Lonely People are Always Up in the Middle of the Night is a new play comprising twelve vignettes that explore the desire for human connection in a dystopian city on one cold night. Just before midnight, we meet various characters – The Prostitutes, The Bitter Man, The Other She & The Other He and more, who desperately seek kindness, empathy, compassion, happiness and beauty in the company of others. Through the use of humour, colors, baking powder and holes this work asks “Do we need each other?”
International collaboration between award-winning playwright Hila Ben Gera (with work presented in NYC, Tel Aviv and Adelaide), and an Australian creative team and cast!
